LOCKDOWN

With the restrictions of lock down 1, plus recovering from an operation I felt very imprisoned. My creative reaction to this was to shut my eyes and with a black pen, charcoal or ink, lash out at paper or canvas and make marks. It felt good to watch shapes unfold and evolve. I used acrylic to colour some shapes to give them more depth. It felt like Angry Art but looked more like a considered statement.

LANDSCAPES

I am interested in the shapes within the landscape, especially the swirls of paths and rivers, patchwork fields, abundant woodland and dramatic skies. Fortunately, there are many such places to take advantage of locally. I need space to escape, to feel alive, the bigger the vista the better.
